The performance issues has been identified and solved! This combined with moving to a new server with new hardware, upgrade of ejabberd to latest version, version 20.07, will probably give us a much more robust service going forward. Thanks for your patience!
Since we upgraded the server to Ejabberd 20.01 we have had some issues with the database. This is being worked on, but since we have a huge DB it takes some time. In the meantime we will have instability until we have ironed out the issues. Sorry for this, but hopefully when this is done we will get a more stable service (fingers crossed).

It seems that we have found the spamming accounts on the Jabber Norway server and these has been blocked now. This looks to have seased the attack from our server and jabber.org has lifted the block.
We have been notified that we might have some users participating in a DDOS attack against jabber.org and we have therefore been blocked towards their server. Investigations on the accounts involved is being done and we will resume normal service when that is fixed.

Sorry, but have today had issues with Ejabberd – it would not start after a normal service restart. Due to having a really horrible Internet connection during my vacation on Sicily in Italy resolving it took a long time.
I ended up reinstalling and recompiling Ejabberd and now it seems to be back in service.
Very sorry about this and the trouble this has caused.
We have now downloaded and installed the latest version of the ICQ transport. Please test and report back if it works.
The reason we have not had the transport running has been a problem with the packaged version and the new version of Python on the new server we migrated to. For troubles because of this we are very sorry.
On a side note, we are also testing the new version of ejabberd and plan to do an upgrade very soon.
For a few years we have been offering free MSN, AIM, ICQ and somewhat Yahoo tranports to alle Jabber / XMPP users. In an effort to better the service for our jabber.no users we now need to bloc external users from utilizing our transports as the traffic for these transports are straining our servers.
For this reason we will block out all external users from the transport this week. Sorry for this.
