Registrations is now enabled!

We have finally been able to enable self-service registration of user accounts on the XMPP server. This is a a form on the web page with robot protection to prevent the creation of spam accounts. The service does also include functionality for self-service password resets. Please find the forms in the menu.

Moved to a new server

Sadly we never managed to get control over the resource usage of the server. So in the end we decided to migrate to a new and more powerful server.

We will update with more information when we have gotten some experience on the new hardware over time.

Server is back up!

For now the server is back up, finally. We cleaned over 100G of database archive causing huge CPU usage and memory usage. This has probably been causing issues for some time. Lets cross fingers this has solved some problems.

Database troubles

Since we upgraded the server to Ejabberd 20.01 we have had some issues with the database. This is being worked on, but since we have a huge DB it takes some time. In the meantime we will have instability until we have ironed out the issues. Sorry for this, but hopefully when this is done we will get a more stable service (fingers crossed).

Service blocked due to users Spamming

We sadly had some users registered that distributed a lot of spam causing our DC provider to lock down our IP. We have now disabled in-band registration for now and will monitor the situation going forward.
