Since we upgraded the server to Ejabberd 20.01 we have had some issues with the database. This is being worked on, but since we have a huge DB it takes some time. In the meantime we will have instability until we have ironed out the issues. Sorry for this, but hopefully when this is done we will get a more stable service (fingers crossed).
We have again had some downtime on ejabberd, and I cannot find anything in the logs. Sadly this is happening when I am on easter vacation so it took some time before I noticed the problem. Should the problem occur again then I would love an SMS sendt to +47 932 42 123 and then I can start it up again. When I get back to work I will investigate the problem further.
Sorry for problems this has caused.

Yesterday we switched ISP and had about 15 minutes downtime. Lets hope the new internet connection is as stable as the old one 🙂
This morning I restarted Ejabberd because it had stopped. I have examied the log files to find out what happened but it seems that the jabber service just died suddenly. Happily all seems to work as it should 🙂
We had some downtime because of a bad cable that lost connection while doing a little service work in the server room. We appologice for problems caused by this.
The server stalled this morning because of a very warm server room. The aircondition stopped working because of snow and ice inside the external unit that caused the fan to get stuck. We have now fixed this problem and I hope that the cooling should start up again. In the meantime we open the doors!! 🙂
We had to restart the firewall today and therefor the service was unavailable for a little while. When it was restarting I reconfigured ejabberd and put in a couple of new modulse that is supposed to give us some more statistics to put out on the web page. Will be getting back to this soon.
Other than this there is nothing much to report. This weekend I will maybe move msn.jabber.no over to the svn version but I have to see if I have the time. Also we probably should run both double up a few days so people can migrate over.

In norwegian at least we have a say that an accident seldom comes alone, and so it has been for us tonight. The server just stalled on us, without an error message. I will go through the logs to see if I can find out what happended, but for now at least everything seems to be in order.
Unfortunately we had some downtime from tonight to this morning. The problem was an unstable Cisco router that was dropping packets. When I was informed of the problem it only required a quick restart and everything seems to be working again. We apologice for the problems this has caused for all users.
