Upgraded to Ejabber 2.0.0

Now I have upgraded the Jabber / XMPP server to ejabberd 2.0.0 which was released only a few days ago. I have been waiting for this release a long time, and been wondering about running one of the test versions but was able to wait until release.

Now I am wondering if this upgrade will fix our problems with the MSN transport which has been making trouble a while. I have also set up Proxy65 and upgraded the MSN transport to PyMSNt 0.11.3 which is fairly new aswell.

Loads of new stuff at one time, now only time will show if everything works stable and smooth.

Sorry for the downtime tonight while I was upgrading the server, I needed to do some manual tuning to make the install on our server. 🙂

  1. None at all? The problem with MSN I am facing is about 70-80% of messages get delivered, but not all of them, and no error messages either.

I have not been able to get this error after the last fix, but I will try again tonight.

  5. Ok, I’ve tried the MSN transport again. Messages are now being delivered, but there’s a new problem: I am shown as online in MSN even when I am signed out! This means that people are sending me messages thinking I’m online, and I’m never receiving them.

  6. hmmm .. ok.

I will look into this transport business again. My transport works fine but that might not be the whole truth. I am starting to wonder if there could be problems with the spool directories.

Will report back when I know more.

  7. good server! i was previously at jabber.org. but there were too many connecting problems. now i have jabber.no and very satisfied!

    best greetings from germany

  8. Hi Stian.

Is the Yahoo transport ok? I haven’t been able to log into that for a few weeks now. The Psi roster shows me the “X” icon.

On the upside, ICQ seems to be working fine. 🙂

  9. Nope, yahoo bad again, and can’t login anymore (we can take this in private off the weblog, to help debugging 🙂

    OUTPUT:
    yahoo.jabber.no
    Presence Error: Remote server timeout

  10. Now that PyMSNt isn’t developed anymore, what are your plans when it comes to the MSN transport? The only other option I know of is the Openfire gateway, but that one requires that you move to the Openfire XMPP server too. Any ideas on the future of jabber.no’s MSN transport?

  11. Hello, I’m new there 🙂
I just want to tell that since this morning I have problems logging to the MSN transport: most of the time it shows the red “X” icon in PSI, or give error 503 in pidgin; when it works I’m unable to change status and messages aren’t delivered 50% of the times. Guess something is going wrong O_o
Hope I’ve been of some help 🙂 Good day!

  12. Hello! I posted this morning but my comment hasn’t appeared: I don’t know if the blog requires admin check, so I’ll post it one more time 🙂
Since this morning I have problems with the MSN transport: it often disconnect when I change status and shows error 503 in pidgin, or the red “X” in PSI.

  13. just an update-
im using psi to login to jabber.no – using speedisn@jabber.no (i thought speedsin@gmail would work)
    that got me no where
i noticed as you mentioned before the ssl cert is expired.

so i manually specificed the server xmmp.jabber.no , turned of ssl warnings

this got me a little further, but i still got ssl errors.

    hope it helps
